Henry W. Slocum, wil be buried in Greenwood cemetery, Brooklyn, tomorrow, with imposing military _ honors. The family has feit obliged to ac- eede to the request of his thousands of per- sonal friends and former companions-in- arms that they be allowed to do him the honor they feel he so richly earned im a public funeral. The ceremony will take pla at the Church of the Messiah, Brooklyn, at 2 @’clock. An imposing military pageant ar- ranged by Gen. Horatio C. King as master of ceremonies will follow the hearse from house to church, and thence to the grave. Rev. Dr. Charles R. Baker, rector of the chureh, will officiate at the services. Rev. Dr. Richard A. Storrs of the Church of the Pilgrim will deliver an address. There will he a full choral service by the boy choir. After the services the casket will be borne from the church by twelve soldiers from Fort Hamilton and placed upon a cais- Bon, and from there a line of march will be taken up for Greenwood cemetery. Following the caisson bearing the remains will be an army horse, saddled and equipped with all the major general's trappings. Its empty saddie will tell its own story of the Joss felt by the veterans in the death of the great commander. Last evening the following gentlemen ‘were telegraphed to and signified their will- fmgness to act as pall-bearers: Maj. Gen. John M. Schofield, Maj. Gen. Fitzjohn Por- ter, Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Butterfield, Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Sickles, Congressman Wil- liam J. Combs, ex-Bridge Trustee William Marshall, ex-Senator James A. Pierce, Maj. Gen. O. O. Howard, Supreme Court Justices Edgar Cullen and Calvin Pratt. There are to be twelve pall-bearers, but the others to ‘whom telezrams have been sent have not as yet answered and their names will not be told until they do. 4st the funeral there will be present all the members from the Grand Army posts of Kings county, the twenty-third regiment of Brooklyn and the light artillery from Fort Hamilton. ——_——<e+-__—__ DUDLEY FIELD'S FUNERAL. Services Held at New York Yesterday Afternoon. Funeral services over the remains of David Dudley Field were held at Calvary P. EB. Church at New York yesterday after- noon. The Rev. Dr. Morgan Dix, rector of Trinity Church; the Rev. Dr. C. C. Tif- fany of the Zion and St. Timothy's Church, the Rev. Dr. Satterlee of Calvary Church, the assistant minister; the Rev. Lewis Cam- ron, with the Rev. F. M. Dennis, were the officiating clergymen. The service was somewhat more elabo- rate than the usual service, especially in the music. Among those present were Justice Ste- en J. Field and Rev. Henry M. Field, of the deceased, and several other members of the Field family; Russell Sage, ex-Mayor Hewitt, William B. Hornblower.
