Considerable excitement was caused among the inhabitants of Branchville* yes- terday morning by a dog belonging to Mr. Boteler, who resides near Kiernan’s, loose from its chain and running th the streets of the village, seeming- ly with every symptom of rabies. The doz snapped at one of Mr. Wallace’s boys and Dit. several other dogs. The people of the neighborhood pursued the animal with shot guns, revolvers and sticks and it was finally killed by Mr. Harry Carson. All the dogs that it had bitten were also killed. The Hyattsville Progressive Euchre Club met last evenin< at the residence of Miss Nellie Moran, on Locust avenue. The fol- lowing players were present: Mr. and / Mrs. L. H. Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. J. The decision of the court of appeals de- claring the requirement of two days’ labor on the roads unconstitutional will deprive this town of about $200 of revenue. White, passed an account with each of his wards, in accordance with an order of the court dated January 16 last. Richard T. Burdette, administrator of Martha A. Church South at Poolesville, have arrived at the scene of their future labors. Dr. Dulany will preach his first sermon there on next Sunday morning. Pastor-Evangelist E. Mr. A. T. Hemnstone, a well-known citizen of Poolesville district, died at his residence nea> Beallsville on Sunday night, in_the seventy-ninth year of his age. Miss Margayet Griffith of Laytonsville and Miss Linthicum of Howard county are visiting Miss Mamie Jones at Poolesville. A large number of relatives and friends of the late Thomas F.
