Ex-Secretary and Mrs. Rusk were treated to | & pleasant surprise party last night when about | 200 employes of the Agricultaral Departmeat took possession of their residence on Massa- chusetts avenue. There was speedily de- posited on the parlor table = waiter bearing nix solid silver pisces, composing a complete tea service. Mr. and Mra. Rusk received their first intimation of the presentation from the remarks of Mr. Willit tation. Said Mr. Willive: We wished to give you a parting testimonial of our esteem, to express ina small degree at | least our high appreciation for the kind acts and deeds that you have manifested to usin the last four years, We wanted something tan- | WW. and visible to remind you that there are | ria: ible hearts back here that throb for you and think | of you. We shall never forget you. We hope you never will forget us. Secretary Rusk made a reply full of feeling, in which he by the department during his admmistration to the intelligent and cordial support ever afforded bim by his late associates.
