Catherine Dalton, a little woman whose black attire gave her the appearance of a widow, was the first of the thirty-one prisoners in the Police Court today to appear for trial before Judge Kimball. Vagrancy was the charge | against her and when arraigned she answered “not guilty,” and added, “I want Lawyer Ricks.” The lawser appeared and so did Policeman Herbert, who bad arrested her in South Wasb- ington. “T've noticed this woman for about three weeks,” said the officer. “She has been hang- ing around seuthwest under the influence of liguor, frequenting bar rooms and smoking cigars and cigarettes.
