A Lawyer Fined for Disturbing Their Meet- ing Last Night. Judge Kimball announced in the Police Court today that he would sustain aud protect the Salvation Army against disorderly persons, and so far as he was concerned he intended to impose fines in cases where persons disturbed them. In the case before the court the defendant was John P. O'Neille, the lawyer, and it was not disputed that he was intoxicated Inst even- ing when he called at the barracks and afforded amusement for the boys who occupied the rear seate, Brother Proctor, who is stationed at the bar- racks to keep order, spoke to the lawyer and he promised to keep quiet, but his failure to do #0 was the cause of another visit on the part of the officer of the army. One of the female oficers thonght that the man was entitled to uo more rights than the boys, and ehe suggested that he be arrested, ‘he watchman, however, did not want to ar- rest him.and he compromiced with his superior showing the iawyer to the street. The matter would have ended there had not the lawyer continued to use bad langnage when he got on the street, and said “—— the Salva- arrest followed and last night he was kept in charge of an oflicer at the police station.
