A reception and social was given by the Ladies’ Association of Metropolitan M. E. Church last evening. The vestry and parlors were handsomely draped with flags by Boat- swain Langdon of the receiving ship Dale, be- sides there were flowers and delicately tinted lights and handsome costumes in abundance. Mrs. M. Tullock, the president of the associa- tion, presided with dignity and grace over the assembiage. while Mr. A. B. Duvall introduced those who took part in the exercises. Mra. John A.
