Ratlway Mail Clerks Make Presentations ten to Pleasant Speeches. ‘The eighteenth annual convention of the United S:ates Railway Mail Service Beneficial Association, and the most largely attended one in the history of the aseociation, concluded its labors in the parlors of the Ebbitt House last evening, the final session being more of a social than a business gathering, the real business of the convention having been acted upon at the sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as was re- ported in Tae Star. At last evening’s session Chairman E. J. Ryan of the committee on resolutions reported & set of resolutions, which were unanimously adopted, thanking all who had in any way con- tributed to the success of the convention and the pleasure of the delegates and their friends, President Robinson having relinquished the chair, Mr. M. A. Butrick assumed it, and ina ¥ pleasant speech presented, on behalf of the convertion, a diamond stad ‘to the retiring president, Mr. H. M. Robinson of Atlanta, Ga.; clock and ornaments to Mr. John W. Holiyday of this city and two psintings to Mr. C. W. Vickery, stperintendent of the third division. ‘The recipients gratefully acknowledged their appreciation and were followed by Civil Service Commissioner Lyman, Miss Fitzgerald, Presi- ent-elect Taylor and Mossrs.
