The plan of Chairman Durborow, which finds indorsement from Congress man Springer and other friends of the world’s fair,is to proceed very cautiously in urging the appropriation upon the menbers of Congress, “At present there is some opposition on the part oi members of the House,” said Chair- man Durborow of the world’s Columbian com- mittee today, “aud i do not consider it judicious to press the question of appropria- tion for a month or six weeks yet. In the meantime a great of work is being done with the members in explaining the situation, and au investigation will probably be made and a deal of light thrown on the situation and much in- formation be spread before the members. ‘They will then be pre} to consider the bill when it comes up, which will probably be be- tween the middle of March and the Ist of April. 1 do not believe in undue haste.” DISTRICT IN CONGRESS.
