THE EVENING STAR: WASHINGTON. e D.C. MONDAY, APRIL 27. 1891. CUT HIS THROAT WITH A RAZOR. Mr. James T. Freeman Commits Suicide at ‘His Brother's House. James T. Freeman, brother of Mr. J. BR. Free- man, the florist, committed suicide Saturday afternoon by cutting his throat with razor. He was fifty-two years old, and not long ago he came here from Leeds, England, for the benefit of his health, and was living at his brother's house, corner of High and U streets. When Mr. J. R. Freeman left home Saturday morning ais unfortunate brother declined to go with him and said he would remain at home. During the day he was seen about the garden several times conversing with the gurdeners and the children, and in the afternoon he sent the children away from the porch in rear of the house where they had been in the habit of playing, and it was beneath this porch that he went and cut his throat from ear to ear. He had evidently been there some time when Samuel Evans, one of the gardeners, discovered him. There was a new razor near his side and bis head was in s large pool of blood. The suicide was not dead, but he expired in a few minutes after being removed from the secluded spot where be had crawied to commit the deed. The body was sent to Birch’s undertaking es- teblishbment, where it was prepared for burial Coroner Patterson made an investigation yer terday, and the decision war that the deceased took his own life.
