How the Baby Members of the Senate Often Get Mixed. ‘There is an unfortunate resemblance between the names of Carey and Casey and this fact is working more or less of trouble in the Senate. Mr. Carey comes from Wyoming; Mr. Casey is at home in North Dakota. Whenever Mr. Casey becomes conspicuous the credit is fre- quently given by a generally discriminating press to Mr. Carey and shoul Mr. Carey chance to do something which fails to meet with popular approval either the writer, by his inferior ehirography, or the intelligent com- positor, by his superior knowledge, lays the whole load on Senator Casey's shoulders. The last straw dropped yesterday when it was ai nounced in Tue Stan that Senator Carey would, in the next occupy the seat which'is tobe vacated by ‘Senator Paddock. Asa matter of fact Senator Carey will stay where he is, but Senator Casey will succeed Mr. Paddock and Mr. Dubois will, #hen be is sworn in, have control of what is now Senator Casey's place. ‘There is no good or sufficient reason for mistaking the Senator from Wyom- ing for the Senator North Dakota. Mr. Carey isan extremely large man, heavier by many pounds than any other occupant of the Senate chamber; good-natured mountain of hard working flesh. Mr. Casey is of the aver- age size and molded on finer lines than his bete noir. Indictments by the Grand Jury. ‘The grand jury today reported indictments as follows: John Keuchler Jackson, J. R.
