Nelson and An- tonio Grinado, both convicted of murder in the first degree and senténced to be hanged the 19th instant. The respite is for thirty days. The ids for the stay are that the grand jury was an illegal body and the indictment invalid. Nelson and Grinado murdered Nelson when drank, Grinado through jealousy. The new law cov- ering grand juries changed the number from twelve to seventeen as the minimum and there were only fifteen members of the jury that found indictments against the prisoners.
