The inmates of the Soldiers’ Home were pleasantly entertained Friday night by a series of tableaux, songs and recitations, given in honor of the seventh anniversury of the Sol- diers’ Home Temperance Union. After tho Program the invited guests adjourned to the dinmg room of the home for refreshments, after which the young people enjoyed an impromptu dance and a delightful ride home. Mrs, Stocking, daughter of the late Justice Miller, who started from Vienna for home im- mediately on the receipt of the news of her father's attack, reached New York Saturday morning. She received no news after leaving Vienna till she saw ber father’s death announced in a London newspaper, which she read on her way from that city to Liverpool, as she sat slone in @ railway carriage.
