Patrick Ryan lives at No. 1120 5th street northeast, making it necessary for him to cross the tracks of the Batimore and Ohio railroad on bis way home from the city. Yesterday he was overonH streethaving a good time. Going up the steep bank beside the railroad ‘made him weary and he sat down on the north-bound track It was about noon yesterday when the fast express came along. Several persons who were on their way home at the time saw the accident, and they hastened to- ward the man whom they had seen tossed like a ball by the engine, expecting to pick up his mangled remains. They were considerably surprised to see the supposed victim get up and walk away, saying: “I'm not burt.” With the ex- ception of a few bruises Ryan was uniajured.
