The corner stone of the new chapel to be erected by the Concordia Lutheran church in the rear of their church building at the corner of 20th and G streets northwest, a full descrip- tion of which was published in Saturday's Star, was laid yesterday afternoon with appropriate ceremonies, The members of the congrega- tion and the Suaday school assembled in the church and after music by the choir a proces- sion was formed, led by the pastor and superin- tendent, Rev. J. Mueller, and the entire con- gregation proceeded to the platform erected on the site of the proposed building. After scrip- ture reading Rev. Mr. Mueller made # brief ad- dress and then the hymn “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” was rendered. A list of articles placed in the stone were read as follows: The documents describing the origin of the chapel; historical #ketch of the Sunday school from the year 1369 to the present time; names of the founders and the respective pastors and the present officers and teachere of the school; a copy of the constitution of the school; a jub- ilee memorial medal; a copy of the German parish paper (Lie Glocke); a clipping from a Washington journal containing an account of the event, and one from Tue EveNino Sran. ‘The corner stoue was then laid by the pastor with a blessing and then a male quartet sang the song “The Chapel,” which was written by Rev.
