Mr. McKeuny appeared for the de- fendant and plead not guilty. “TOO MUCH OF A TRAIN.” Policeman Roach of the fourth precinct, who swore to the information, testified that on the day charged there was a train of twenty-eight cars, a caboose and engine crossing from 7th to 9th streets and that the 7th-street crossing was blocked for eight minutes. “What was the matter with the train?” asked Mr. McKenny. — was too much of s train,” replied the A STREET CAR DETAINED. He thought, however, that more power should have been provided. “And the law should have said so,” remarked the judge. REMARKS OF JUDGE MILLER. The judge thought that the regulation was a wise one. The street cars and pedestrians have aright to travel the streets unmolested. He thought that the facts in this case showed that the obstruction was the result of an unavoida- ble accident and not through the carelessness and negligence of the defendant. The judge defined” the section of the police regulations under which the prosecution was brought and dismissed the case. ___—___ A COUNCIL OF DOCTORS.
