B. Noves, Treasurer Evening Star Newspaper Co. Sworn to and subscribed before me this twenty-sixth day of November, A. D, 1888, Jous T. C. Ciara, Notary Public. re ‘This year’s campaign of the winds and the clouds against the earth has been characterized both by the severity of the great assaults and by the systematic regularity with which they have been conducted. In January the first great blizzard of the year froze and killed earth’s inhabitants. In March the memorable spring assault was made. The summer blow ‘was struck in the shape of the August cy- clone. The autumn has been expected to furnish an assault worthy to round out the extraordi- nary campaign of 88. Yesterday's storm prob- ably fulfills this expectation. Heavy snows and terrific winds in New England, with high- running waters and great damage to shipping along the coast, entitle the storm to rank with its predecessors of the year. Railway commu- nication will probably be interrupted, and cities will suffer as they deserve by the pros- tration of electric wires permitted to remain overhead. In Washington the fourth of the big four of the stofms of '88 roared very mildly, though the wind was disagreeably demonstra- tive for a short time, and some snow and hail FOR THE Boys. WM.
