Hall, a colored barver, was arrested yester- day by OMicer Geo, Stamler on a Warrant charging him with bigamy, and this morning in the Police ‘Court the case Was continued under $500 bonds. ‘The complainant in the case {s Ella Hall, to whom the defendant was married in this city November 24, 1887, by Rev. Bishop Brown, She 1s a bright yellow woman, living at 1012 17th street north- west. After her marriage with Hall, she alleges he lived with her until January 21 last, when be left her. Before this, ‘however, she ascertained from a letter he had directed that he was corre- sponding with Mrs Clara Hall, Watkins, N.Y. Complaiuant asied him who Mrs, Hall was, and he sald it was bis mother. Complainant said sbe considered it her duty a3 @ daughter-in-law to write to her husbaud’s mother, and she did so. The result was that she received a letter from Mrs. Hall, at Watkins, N. Y., Who stated that she Was married to Wilitain Hail tn New York in 1879; that she had three children Uving and one dead of this tmarriage, and that Hall deserted her and the children ‘about three years ago. O'Neil left here early in the sum- mer and has been working in Atlantic City.
