INCREASING INTEREST IN THE RELIGIOUS SERVICES AT CAMP-MEETING. Correspondence of Tx EVEXING Stan. WASHINGTON Grove, August 23, 1888. The people in camp are becoming much more enthusiastic since the clouds have passed over ‘and the pleasant giow of the sunlight 1s felt once more. It has been delightful, but decidedly cool since yesterday morning. Overcoats, heavy wraps, and blankets were in demand last night. More strangers were to be seen here yesterday than on ‘any Week-day since the opening of the camp. At 11 o'clock Rev. Mr. Sul preached, his text being “Go home and tell thy friends what great things the Lord bath done for you.” It was an eloquent address. An impressive prayer meeting preceded the opening Of tue usual morning worship. It was led by G. W. Hobbs, of Baltimore. Many grown People as well as’ the little folks attended the children’s class at 2 o'clock. ‘Ihese services area pleasing feature of the camp, and are daily grow- Ing in interest. ‘The children sing very sweetly, Jed by Prof. Henry Wilson. Thence tbe crowd moved towara the tabernacle, and at the opening hymn of the regular Worship of tne sanctuary the place was filled to overflowing. The colored peopie of the camp, of Whom there are many, were well represented. Rev. T. J. Seven penitents presentea themselves at the altar of prayer. ‘Today the sacramental service will be observed.
