Detectives Carter and Mahon made an important arrest yesterday by the capture of the notorious ‘Regro burglar James Moore, with several aliases, who, it 18 thought, has been robbing houses in va- rious partsof the city, and especially in East Washington. In connection with the arrest the Officers recovered considerable jewelry besides $45 in cash, and a number of miscellaneous articles. Hes an expert burglar and has done time in Al- Dany for robberies committed in this city. He is ‘the famous umDfella thief. He had a rope ladder, on the ends of which were iron hooks. Grant on Which were his initials, turned ‘up in Wm, Mc- :y's pawnshop in West Washington, where the Prisoner had pawued it.” He saw fue initials o8 the watch and he pawned It in the name of Frank A. Upon their arrival at the house the officers found ‘Moore, and placed him under arrest. He resisted, and, after some trouble, ue was taken to the fourth Precinct station, where the pawn ticket for Mr. Gran’s watch was found on him.
