The report of the committee on temperince urged total abstinence, provided that the members of the Methodist Pro- testant church shall not sign petitions for ltcense, and declared the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors as a beverage to be anti- Christian; that the trade should be condemned by the church and prohibited by the state.
