Va., says: Farmers on Sand creek are dally losing stock of all kinds, the result of the ravages of «mad dog. The loss so far is not less than $1500. Some time ago a mastiff belonging to Jobu J. Gault showed signs of rabies and killed all Gault’s sheep, mangied some cattle, bit a horse ad killed several hogs. ‘Tue dog then went to Wm. Wrights, where he killed several calves and bit « $50 bird dog, which has since died. From there the animal went to John Burk’s, where it bit a number of sheep, hogs ‘and cattle and killed adog. The mad brute ulso appeared at Providence school No. 14, and attacked the children, tearing the clothes off two or three and biting a3 many more. ‘The dog was driven off, went home and made a savage attempt to kill bis master, but was knocked senseless and chained unul be died.
