Delay in Opening it to the Public— ‘The Present Situation, In view of the preparations of the citizens of Georgetown for a celebration on the occasion of the opening of the new Aqueduct Bridge, a Stax reporter paid a visit to the bridge this morning to determine, if possible, the state of the work. A few men were at work on the through span or truss, the floor of which at present consists of a few iron beams, traversed by narrow planks that tremble and silp as the men go to and fio in their Work. Just beyond this span, which is about 100 feet in length, tne trestle begins, This is not yet floored, but the deck-beams are in place, and the Work 18 in such shape that the floor-planks can be laid tm a few hours, THE WORK 18 NOW DELAYED by the lack of materials, the deck beams for the truss being on their way from Cumberland. Jennie Campbell, a colored woman who lives in Zig Zag alley, South Washington, was tn the dock of the Police Court this morning charged with the grand larceny of $76 from Charles B. Gray. Mr, ‘Thomas Taylor appeared for the defendant, and said he would waive an examination, Mr. Shep- perd suggested that the case against her was not and he thought the defendant would fare better if the testimony was heard.
