The family being absent from the city 1t could not be ‘ascertained What has been taken, desenchinn temas A Panic on a Steamboat, AN ACCIDENT TO THE ARROWSMITH'S MACHINERY CAUSES MUCH EXCITEMENT. ‘The steamer Arrowsmith started on her usual daily trip for Colontal Beach yesterday, having on ‘Doard about 400 of the members and friends of the Eleventh Street Car-Drivers’Association. When the oat had got down as far as Lower Cedar Point the passengers were startled by hearing a heavy crash, followed by the noise of escaping steam. ‘There Was great confusion on and Capt. Eutwistle and his officers, after they ‘had ascer- } tained the cause of the trouble, used every effort to allay the excitement. The boat was at once anchored and it was found that the head of the steain cylinder had worked loose, resulting tn the breaking of the steel bars which connect the | Walking-beam with the piston-rod_ and erank- Suaft. The band was or- dered to play and the excited excursionists were kept sumliciently calm to prevent any of them from jumping overboard, ‘The steamer Henry E.
