Moore, colored, about twenty-one years of age, fired two Shots from a revolver at a young colored woman named Annie Hickman, on the commons near St. | Patrick's Cemetery. Officer Slack, who was out driving with his son, heard the report of the shots and going in the direction of the cemetery saw the Young woman rifnning, and also saw Moore fire a third shot at her. The officer drove after Moore, and when withtn 50 feet of him, drew his revolver and commanded the negro to halt and threatened to shoot him if he did not do so. “Here me, Mr. Siack.” sald Moore, as he threw up his hands’ and Surrendered. ‘The weapon was taken from him.
