Compared with that of any Other soprano of the present, Patti's work last night was easily unrivaled; but, from Pattr’s best efforts in former years there was at times, a per- ceptible falling off in richness of tone and ituency of execution. And yet, it would seem as if nothin, could be more brilliant than the splendid an Joyous floriture In ‘‘Fors’e Lui,” at the oiose of the Mrst act. Mme. Putth infused much more of the ‘dramatic “element into her Violeta last night than when she gave it here some years ago. Her scene with Germont in the second act and the death scene in the last were ereditable pieces of work dramatically considered. ‘The Diva of course evoked perfect hurricanes of applause by her singing, and at the end of the second act, the audience called her before the cur- tain again ‘and again, and would not cease their applause until she graciously signaled to Con- ductor Ardit! and hisimen gave forth the intro- ductory strains to “Home, Sweet Home.” ‘Then a hush of keen and delighted expectancy fell on the house, and Me.
