One of the Sapposed Dixon Murderers Still at Large—Am Investigation in Progress. . The investigation into the murder of Capt, Dixon, while aboard his sloop the Mary J., in Or near Machodoe creek, Virginia, is going on at Leonardtown, Md., with unabated interest, The colored boy, Biscoe, who was arrested, ix Still in jail, and in his confession he states that the murder was done by a mulatto man whom Capt, Dixon shipped at Alexandria. It has been denied that the sloop stopped at Alexan- dria, but Justice Morgan, who has charge of the case at Leonardtown, where Biscoe is in jail, has received a message from Capt. King, of Alexandria, who stated that on Friday he saw Capt. Dixon ship a mulatto named Bradshaw at Alexandria, Capt, King knows Bradshaw well, having sailed with bim, and wili come to rdtown at caught. A LETTER FROM MAJOR WALKER, Justice Morgan has also received. the follow- ing letter trom Major Walker, the superintend- ent of the police force in this city: “Yours of the 224 Inst. recelved. We have information leading us to believe that the mur- dererot Capt. Dixon is Stansberry Bradshaw, He has a mother named Mary Jane Bradshaw and a brother named James Thomas Bradshaw, Their postofiice address is Monteithville, Staf- ford county, Va, Stansberry, it 1s sald, has a sore foot, aud Will likely go home to have lt doctored” You can learn trom your prisoner if the murderer had a sore foot; if So, it would in- dicate that Stansberry Bradshaw is the man We have intormed the maycr of cksburg of our suspicions regarding Stansberry.” it is said there are four Bradshaw brothers, One of them, Stansberry, Is said now to be In Ceett county’ (Md.) jail for larceny of money from the captain oi a boat. Another, James ‘Thomas Bradshaw, is said to have abducted the white girl, Minny'Tinny, from King George's county, Vi, and attempted to murry her in Washington, FOLLOWING UP THE CLUES. The Baltimore Sun’s special from Leonard- town states: “Tue community here generally agree with Superintendent Walker that Brad- shaw Is the accomplice of Biseoe inthis horrid murder. A map answering the description by Biscve of his accomplice was seen in aniesville on last Saturday golug towards Benedict, on the Patuxent, He got his dinner atacolored man’s house. and stated be had been on a boaton the Potomac and had left on account of being badly treated. Two ofl- cers went in pursuit of him, but up to this fume he has not been captured. Miss Belle Dixon, of Baltimore, # daughter of Capt. Dixon, accompanied by Mr. Nagle, has been bere anc identified the clothing found in Biscoe’s valise ‘as belonging to her father.’ ‘The body of Capt. Dixon, which had been buried in a graveyard on the Boyes’ farm in Westmoreland county, Va., was disinierred last Sunday and a complete post mortem ex- amination was held. Capt. Dixon’s skull was found to be badly fractured and crushed in, Dr. 8. F. Brown took out several pieces of bone. The body was too much decomposed to show Whether or not the throat had been cut, ‘The Confession Not Confirmed. ME, FREUND, OF THIS CITY, DENIES THE STATE- MENTS OF A SUPPOSED MURDERER, Ben Biscoe, the colored boy who isin jail at Leonardtown, Md., on suspicion of being the murderer of Capt. Dixon, of the sloop Mary J., near that place recently, has made a supple- mentary statement to his vonfession, in which he expiains how he happened to have the $8.50 Which was found in his pockets when he was arrested, He says that the money was paid to him August 25th last by Mr. Freund, the ca- terer on 9th street, in this city. A STAR re- rier called at Mr. Frennd’s place this morn- ing and was told by Mrs. Freund that the au- thorliies at Leonardtown had written to him inquiring as to the truth of his statement, An exutuinaiion of his books showed that @ boy who gave bis name as John Biscoe was in the y of Mr. Freund trom September 23d to ber 23d, 1855, and that when he was dis- charged he was paid $4.50,which was due him, No other person of that name, or answering the deseription of this boy, had been employed by Mr, Freund, at least recently. ny time to identity him when Miss Winston and the Rifles, CAPT. OYSTER DENIES THAT THERE WAS ANY DISAGREEM BEIWEEN HIMSELF AND LIEUT. MANSUN. Captain Oyster, the commanding officer of the Nationat Riffes, denies the published state- ment that there was any difficulty between him and Lieutenant Manson, or that any con- flict of authority oecurred between them at the armory last evening. At the request of some ‘oung men who wished to organize a volunteer Squad to appear on the stage at Miss Winston's benefit, he went to the armory last evening and saw them drill, and when they asked him what he thoughtof their drilling, he told them that, in his opinion, they did uot do it well enough to ‘appear on the si Miss Winston, who was present during the evening, had retired, and at the request of the youug men, who were mainly the former members of the Cadet Rifles, and who agreed in this opinion, he said he would iniorm the lady that they éould not appear. It was not proposed that the volunteer squad should appear in the Rifles’ uaiiorm, and there was no difference of opinion between himself and Lieut. Manson. The Rifles had never agreed to appear on the stage on the Occasion mentioned, but a publisued aunounce- ment that they Would drill came out in the Sunday papers, when the company did not meet Until Monday evening and take action upon Miss Winston's invitation until Monday night, The action of the company in refusing to take part was in accordance with a rule Which bas been in force for some time, not to take part in benefits, Capt. Oyster suid that he met Lient. Manson at the armory last evening and bad a pieasant chat with him, but there Was no question between them on this subject or any other. ees QUEENSTOWN CATTLE MARKET.—235 cattle 9a the market, 127 sold to butehers as follows: Best sold trom 4% to dye. per Ib; good sold from 44 to dye. per 1b mediani, sold from B44 to 4c. per 1b.; common sold trom '2y to 3 Per lb. 74 sold to country dealers. 34 lett over, and shipped to other markets. 1,379 sheep and ibs on the market.
