Mr. Fred. A. Koones, son ot Frederick Koones, a well-known Fesident of Washington, while in bathing some thirty feet from shore, in front of the bath houses, was suddenly seized with elther cramps or paralysis of the heart and was drowned be- fore he could be rescued. There were no bathers in the immediate vicinity ut the time, and al- thongh there were quite a number of spectators along the beach none of them noticed the young man’s cries until too late.
