When, in the order of business, the reports from the Washington district were received, the presiding elder, Rev. J. McKendree Reilly, presented his report. He sald that thirty-one charges are included in the district, including seventeen within the elty limits. Nore of the Preachers have died during the year, “and,” added Dr. Reilly, “none have married.” The preachers generally have been fuithtul to their work. Two houses of worship and one parson- age have been erected—one church at Whitfield station, on the Bladeusburg cireuit, and the other near Knowles station on Rock eréexcircuit, ‘The parsonage built was at 4th st. church in this city. Some improvements have also been made on Foundry parsonage and church, amounting to about $2,000, which has been paid. The Sunday schools were with but tew exceptions ovganized into missionary societies. The city schools were generally in a very healthy state. This tear had been only partially realized.
