F, Droop has filed his answer to the suit brought against him by Mrs. Henrietta C. Metzerott, to restrain him from using the firm name of W. G. Metzerott & Co. A. course, at the Congregational chureh, lectur- jug on the subject, “The Chain ot Success.” He introduces in the lecture some of his latest poems. ——— ENTERTAINING THE VETERANS.—Last even- ing the Amateur Dramatic association of Mount Pleasant gave another ot its series of entertainments at the Soldiers’ Home, which was bizhly appreciated by the veterans who filled the hall. The program consisted of a farce called “The Precious Pickle” and the well known comic operetta “Penelope,” with piano selections by Prot. Heary White between the acts. In “The Precious Pickle” the parts were Very well taken, but those of Miss Throckmor- ton as Juno, the’ colored housemaid, and little Ciara Young as Sissy Gable, were particularly noticeable.” In “Penelope” Mr. Arthur H, Baker as Pitcher was very good, but the feature of the evening was Miss Agnes Brown's Pene lope. Her clear sweet voice and good acting made her part a masterpiece. The Rev. Jas. A. Buck, of Kock Creek parish, and family and the iamily of the Rev. J.B.
