The catching airs, which are an important factor in the suc- cess of most light operas, are lacking in this, but the concerted pieces and solos, some of them very difficult, were rendered last night with such careand ability as to call forth marked praise. The principals were in excel- lent volce and acted with exceptional skill, while the chorus was very strong. Miss Marie Sune as Giralda entered with spirit into her role and sang delightfully. Miss Agnes Hunt- ington made her first appearance here on the atic stage, and added to the number of her ashington ‘admirers, She made a dignified and stately Duchess.
