Yesterday afternoon, Judge Hagner, in the Enuity Court, made a decree of divorce in the case of Ella E. Parker against Geo. T. Parker. Mr 8, R. Bond was her counsel. Judge Hagner also made a decree in the case of Join Condon against Susan Condon. They were married June 19tn, 1877, and he él that in '79 and ‘80 he became suspicious of her conduct; that she became cruel and unkind to him, and in 1880 he retused to associate with her as his wife, yet she has given birth to two ebiidren. Judge Hagner today made a decree of divorce In the case of John Stewart against Ei phemia Stewart. ‘They were married June, 1868, her name being Hardy, and he charged desertion in November, 1882. ——— His Last Red Cent. Aletter was received at the elty post office this morning with the following superseription: “The P. To you, who have your portion of this world’s goods, I will this, my last “red cent,” together with iny ill luck ‘and many misfortunes, “For unto him who hath shalt be given and unto him who hath not shall be taken away, even that which he hath.” Witness my band and seal this 8th day of October, 188-. of Morgatitown! N- a A Belt Divorce Case Witness im Trouble. POLICEMAN HARPER TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE TRIAL BOARD, Charges have been filed with the chief of Police against Private Joseph Harper of con- duet unbecoming an officer, and he has been eited to appear before the trial board on Wed- nesday next, These charges are founded on the evidence given in the case of Eugene Belt against his wife for divorce, taken betore Com- missioner F. T. Browning a few weeks ago. Officer Harper testitied in behalf of Belt that a certain house in the West End which Mrs. God- rey visited was regarded as of bad reputation and was under suspfcion, and that he received instructions from the liettenant of the fourth precinct to watch the house, It was testified by witnesses for the respondent that the house never bore such a reputation, and its inmates were people of unquestionable respectability, and that Harper could have received no such instructions from the lieutenant named, as he was, at the time stated, an inmate of the in- sane asylum. — Lower Theater Prices Wanted. To the Editor of the EVENINa STAR: ‘The fact that in two of the high-priced thea- ters good attractions are playing to beggarly | houses, while the third has temporarily ciosed its doors for luck of support, ought to suggest to agers that the people are tired of paying a wages to see a play. Albaugh did a good business ull summer on’ a sensible basis, and when that house struck @ paying lead’ why doesn’t it work i If managers will go shopping they will fing that prices in almost ail lines of goods have fallen perceptibly during the past few years, And theafer prices must come down, too, oF people will seek their amusements elsewhere.
