To the Eéitor of Tax Evasive STAR: I have seen numerous articles in different Papers in regard to the rights of pedestrians as against owners of teams. 1 would like to know it drivers of horses have any rights as against bicycles and like vehicles; whether the same law that requires a driver to keep on the right hand side is applicable tothem. Last evening in driving a horse (a new purchase) in three in- stances, while on the right hand side of the concrete paved street, persons riding bicycles and one double tricycle, coming trom opposite directions (to that in’ which I was driving), came within three or four feet of my horse and buggy, and while my horse Is not one to easily, they, on account of their less action and close proximity to him, him to shy, and only owing to the watchfulness on my might have sioned an aceldent’ Mine was not the ouly case, as I noticed four other horses which were frightened. I tnink the bicyclist should be made to keep to the right and left, the same as vehicles, and when coming in the same direc- tion as one is driving they should, just previous to passing, be required to rin Ul, and any rider with common sense not closer to a horse than ten feet. If at any time an acci- dent happens to me by reason, of bicycles coming on wrong side of street I will have them arrested for malicious mischief. SUBSCRIBER. —— Tue Moxtcomery County (Mp.)
