The human bones found on the old Carroll Place, on Rock creek, as mentioned in yester- day's STAR, were brought into the city yester- day and taken temporarily to the Washington asylum. There is no doubt but they are the Temains of Franz Prosch, formerly of Berlin, Germany, who had been employed in this country asa book and news agent, and a por- tion of whose clothing wus found ou the Metro- politan branch of the Baltimore and Obio rail- Toad, near Linden station, about the 10th of July'last. ‘The coroner will hold an inquest on Monday morning. WHAT 18 KNOWN OF PROSCH IN BALTIMORE. The Baltimore American of to-day ,says: Prosch came to this country from Dresden abont two years ago and sought work in Balti- more, Por six months he managed to make a livelihood by doing odd Jobs about Light street. Afterward he was employed by Mr. Zatin, to whom he explained his condition, to help in‘his saloon and assist 1n doiug sueh work about the house as was required of him. He served his employer about one year, when he obtained employment at Mr. Hossmuesler’s book store, vn Gay street. Here he was engaged to carry newspapers and riodicals to subscribers, and made sujficent money to Ive eomfortably. He did not change his boarding house, however, but continued to live at Zahn's place. He always appeared in good spirits, but sometimes would give expression to queer ideas. After working for ‘Rossmaesler for eight months, he came to the conclusion that ke could eaptire all the customers and carry on the business himself. ‘This preyed on his mind, and he would speak of it continually. Unfor- tunately for him, his capital was insufficient to conduct such an enterprise, and he beedme somewhat morose. About six weeks ago he suddenly disappeared, and the finding of his body, in Washington ‘Was the first intimation the Zahn family had as to his whereabouts, Mrs. Zahn, in speaking of Prosch, said he was essed Of @ high order of Intelligence. The is person referred to the hus- bund of bis sister, who had become insame and finally died in an asylum. Prosch has a wife aod three children living in Dresden. He was forty-five years of age. The inference is that his mind became ‘unhinged, and after wander- ing about for some time he ended his sufferings with his own hand or else died from starvation.
