The Government Will Take Possession of Them and Finish Them. Secretary Whituty has addressed a letter to the assignees of Mr. John Roach stating that the contracts for the construction of the three new cruisers, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta, have been forfeited, and ~at the government will take possession of them. The Secretary has directed the chiefs ot bureaus to take charge of such matters connected with the completion of the vessels as come within their provinces, and to await instructions, It is the intention to have the vessels completed by the govern- ment at such navy yards as are most sultable. ‘They are so tar advanced in construction that but. little difficuity is to be encountered in fin- ishing them without alteration of the original plans. ————_+e+_____ An Important Army Order.
