Arrival of the “Liberty Bell.” ROUTE FROM THE NEW ORLEANS EXPOSI- TION TO THE QUAKER CITY. ‘This morning at eight o'clock a special train arrived at the B. and P. depot with the “Liberty Bell,” which has been on exhibition at the New Orleans exposition, having been loaned by the city of Philadelphia to the exposition managers: for that purpose. There arrived on the same train the New Orleans escort of the famous bell, consisting of J.V. Guilliotte, mayor of New Orléans, and seventeen members of the munt- cipal council of that city, three police officers, thirty-six members of steam fire company No. 12, and twenty members of the Continental ards, all of New Orleans. Jonxsox was Ropnep. —In the Police Court to-day, Judge Snell had before him a young colored man named Louls Bowle, who was charged with stealing $5 from Mary Joknson, who lives in Owen's alley in the northwest part of the city. Mrs. Johnson, who {sa colored woman about 40 years old, testified that Bowle came to her house yesterday and said that her husband had sent him for a quar- ter fo buy his dinner with. She stooped down, raised up the carpet under which she kept her nouey, and was about to give him the quarter when he told her that he did not want the quarter, but wanted his mortar hod. She then put the carpet down and went back after the nod, and when she returned she saw Bowle drop the carpet where her money was and run if with a $5 bill.
