ARRIVAL OF THE FAMOUS SOCIETY OF GOTHAM— THE JACKSON DEMOCRATS RECEIVE THEM. Last evening at 6 o'clock the Jackson Demo- cratic Association met at Cosmopolitan Hall for the purpose of receiving Tammany Society of New York. Word having been received that it would arrive shortly after 7 o'clock, the line was formed by Mr. Robert Ball, marshal, as- sisted by Messrs, G. T. Stewart, L. Neumyer, J. W. Sears, and C. A. Vedder, the members bearing torehes and headed by the Hagerstown Cornet Band, marched by way of 9th to Penn- sylvania avenue, 7th, B, and 11th streets, to 9th and Maryland avenue, and awaited the ar- rival of the two sections of the train bringing Tammany.
