A press dispatch from Colorado Springs, Feb- ruary 3, says: Last evening George S. Robbins, a highly esteemed citizen of this place. was accl- dentally shot and killed. He had laid down on his bed, when a revolver, which he kept under his pillow at night, was accidentally discharged, the ball passing throuzh his head, causing instant death. His tather is proprietor of the Metropol- itan hotel at Washington, D. C. Mr. Robbins. of the Metropolitan hotel, re- ceived a telegram Tuesday stating that his son died suddenly, giving no particulars. The de- ceased was a man of family, and was in the drag business in the south until he went west, about five years ago, for the benefit of his health. He was 4 native of Vermont, from whence the fam- ily came some forty years ago.
