Dr. Von Kline, of Ohio, gave notice that he would offer an, amendment to the constitution which would prohibit the admission of members to the association who are not graduates of a college hav- ing a literary course. Dr. Toner, from the committee on necrology, stated that his report had been published weekly in The Journat during the past year, and, therefore, the report had already been read by the members. If the association approved, he would continue the Same course next year. By resolution he was re- quested to do so. FINANCIAL AND OTHER MATTERS. The report of the treasurer, Dr. Dungllson, showed that the balance rematning in the treasury Was $2.212.07. A resolution was adopted providing that the payment of $5 annually was necessary for a continuance of membership. Dr. Green, of New York, offereda resolution urging Congress to Issue a uniform edition of the Melical and Surgical History of the Warof the Rebellion, as the present edition was exhausted, and a lirge number of doctors had not been. able to obtain this valuable work. It was adopted. PLEURO-PNEUMONIA. Dr. Beach, of Ohio, presented a resolution which stated that it was important that steps should be taken at this session of Congress to exterminate the disease among animals known as pleuro-pneu- monia. ‘The doctor said that he thought a bill for this purpose Would be adopted by the present Con- gress. The resolution was adopted. ‘THE NEW PRESIDENT. Dr. Campbell, of Georgia, the president-elect, Was introduced to the association by Dr. Flint in a graceful speech. The new president responded in a very effective Iittle speech, A DECISIVE VOTE ON THE PRAYER QUESTION.
