Walsh, well-known in connection with the star ronte cases, has furnished the press with the copy of a letter he addressed to the President a mouth ago, to which he states he has received no re- ply. In this letter he recites the fact that he appeared before the grand jury here as a witness against Hon. W. P. Kellogg, whose case on the resulting indictment had been fixed for hearing on the 10th inst.
