Earth closets and box privies fill the centers of square after square, and there seems no redress, Instead of becoming a question of public good, it is made an individual grievance and only abated theoretically. ‘Through the Press I hope our city may be made secure from the dire calamity, but only by agitating and arousing its patrons toa re- alization of their peril can the needed additional precautions be timely.
