THE SUPPLY OF BUTTER INCREASING—PRUITS AND VEGETABLES IN ABUNDANCE—OTHER FEATURES OF THE WEEK, About the same amount of provisions have been dtsposed of In our city markets during the past Week as usual and with not much change in Prices. Some of the southern vegetables and fruits have dropped in price, in consequence of the tulier supply, but the staple articles, such as flour, meats and groceries, have not changed. The flour trade 1s unchanged and prices are firm. The grain market is also firm in consequence of limited arrivals. The supply of corn ts light and there ts a alight advance in price. ‘The offerings of hay have been moderate, the market dull and prices are unchanged. ' Rye straw Is dull. The best greenly cured timothy hay ‘1s scarce andin demand, selling at good prices. The butter supply 1s tncreasing in quan- Uty and quality, and the demand is steady for all arrivals Of good'stock. The near-by supplies are better In quality, and dealers state that makers of butter are beginning to realize the fact that It is for their pecuniary interest to produce a better quality and get better prices. The receipts of have been rather limited and the market ts at the same time active. ‘The supply of spring-chickens foots up to less this week than last, and the price 1s high and the market active for rood-sized chickens. Old fowls are dull, and roosters are selling from 8 to 9 cents per pound; large ‘size spring-chickens, £0 to 21 cents; live geese are selling at from 40 to 80 cents each. The poultry market 1s generally active. Dried fruit continues very scarce, and the season isclosing. All the receipts fin1 realy sale, as the arrivals are limited, Domestic green fruits are out the market, except an occasional lot of apples, which sell for very high prices, anda few cran- berries, which are worth $4'to % per box. Strawberries are becoming plentiful and the wholesale prices falling; good Norfolks are going by’ the case from 5 to 7 cents per quart, ant good natives 9 to 15 cents by the case. Cherries, 3 lo 4 cents per quart. The vegetable market {s lively for the fresh supplies, and old potatoes are selling. well. The latter are selling In quintities from cents to $1 per bushel, and new from $5 to $6 per barrel. Yams, cabbage, peas, string beans, cu- cumbers, tomatoes, squash, ‘c., are arriving plentifully from the south. Kaspar’s MustcaLe.—Ford’s Opera house Was Oiled to overflowing lust night vo greet the annual musicale of Prof. Kaspar, the well-known violinist. The program was made of excellent se- lections by the director and was well rendered throughout. Haydn’s serenade by mere children was quite a remarkable feature, showing a dell- cacy of shading and bowing rarely seen outside of ‘Thomas’ orchestra, while the last_ number oa the program consisted of ttree selections for a full orchestra, which gave ample opportunity to show Prof. Kaspar’s training, power and exactness in the handling of the bow by such smal! children, The intonation was quite perfect. Among the more individual features were the vlo- In soloists, including a duet, the “Carnival of Venice,” by Miss Mignon Ulke and Master Frank Patterson, which ‘was excellent; a fantaste (by Dancta) by Miss Mattie Sexton, who has tmproved very much since last year; a'violin solo by Miss Birite Lucas, who charmed the audience by her exquisite quility of tone and style for one of her age: a quintette by Miss Coyle and Messrs. Psonrasis. Ihave been afflicted for twenty years with an obati- nate skin disease, called by some M. D.’s Psoriasis, and others Leprosy, commencing on my scalp, and, in spite of all I could do, with the help of the moet skilful doctors, it slowly but surely extended, until a year ago this winter it covered my entire person in form of dry ely all the time. Every morning thero could be nearly a dustpanful of scales taken from the sheets of my bed, some of them half as Jarye as the envelope containing this letter. In the lat- ter part of winter my skin commenced cracking open. I tried everything, almost, that could be thought of, without any reltef. ‘The 12th of June I started west, in hopes I could reach the Hot Sprinws.
