Boston, April 22—The governor to-day sent an order to the state board of health, instructi them to assume all the powers and duties of the board of trustees of the state almshouse at Tewkesbury, to take effect at once. He requests. the board of health to appoint some officer to take charge of the Tewkesbury buildings, and states that the name of Frank W. Sanborn would be acceptable to him. He also requests that an inventory of all the property at the almshouse be taken asa precaution, should an action upon the bond of the superintendent become necessary. The governor says the families .of the various ofi- cials are furnished with their entire iiving at the almshous®, contrary to law, and he notines the board of health that in future he intends to put the responsibility of the conduct of the almstiouse upon them.
