Cunningham, a young lady about twenty years of age, died suddenly about 10:20 O'clock Tuesday evening, under peculiarly sad circumstances. Mr. John Callahan had been spending the evening with her at her parents’ Tesidence, No. 1017 26th street. Shortly after 10 o'clock he started to leave, and she went to the front door with him, and was taken with a fit of coughing. Saying to Mr. Callahan thet she felt as if he ‘was suffocating, he assisted her back to the room and called her sister. Medical assistance was summoned from Columbia hospital, and Mr. H. L. EJohnson responded, but before lis arrival Ife was apparently extinct. He did all in his power to resuscitate her, but falled. Miss Gun- ningham was well-known in the western section of the city. She was a good-looking young lady, of medium size. She had previously had two at- tacks similar to the one which caused her death her lungs being affected.
