One of these facts 1s that there are three individuals in thiscity about whom the entire system of robbery re- Yolved, and both detectives and thieves were in their power. When a thief arrived re this city, unless he reported to this combina’ ly he Boing "at once arrested by the detectives; but if he reported he was safe. The proprietor of the “fence” and the go-between have had a monopoly for some time, and the investigations of the grand jury will probably bring a portion, at least, of this machinery of rascality to light. ‘The Ught has been turned on upon of these trans- actions with gratifying is known where the articles atolen from a gentie- man’s residence, on R street, between 14th and 15th, several years ago, went to. Dr. Kankin stated to a Stax reporter to-day that he could say nothing about what step he might toke until he had received full information. If he thought then that the call required serious con- sideration he might visit Cleveland, but otherwise le would decide here without going.
