The snow continued to fall yesterday and last night with great persistency, and It still keeps up this morning, but the quantity of snow was not great. The snow storm was not a very robust one, and seemed atways on the point of coming to an end. It, however, kept on, and the small army of snow shovelers that swarmed on the Streets also kept on. Two inspectors are already statloned at the wharves for that purpose, INFPIATORY STEPS OF THE HEALTH OFFICER. ‘The Commissioners have approved the estimate of Health OMcer Townshend for a precautionary small-pox service, and granted authority for the j employment of the number of persons named in the heaith ofticer’s letter of the 9th inst. Dr. B. Offutt has been appointed resident physician at the small-pox hospital, and Dr. Geo, Latimer to Glagmose and superintehd the removal of cases, as well as perform vaccinations at the health office. A sub-station will be established at the corner of 18h and A streets southeast for ambulance, &c. and telephones will be put in at the station and ospital The sanitary force being unable to do inspection duty on the streets during this weather, the in- spectors have been assigned to duty at the depots to watch the arrivals of passengers from the north and west, especinliy the trains from Baltimore.
