A REFRESHING CHANGE. Every reader of newspapers has observed time and again, in the advertising columns, many singular and frequently unpronounceable names of medicinal reme- dies, The Greek and Latin languages especially have been drawn upon to furnish names by which patent medicines could be introduced to the public. The in- ference ts, in many cases at least, that their proprietors depend more upon the attraction of high-sounding titles than upon the esscntial merits of the remedies themselves. It is refreshing once in s wh'ls tofind a medicine ad- vertised, whose simple, intelligible name in English, at once conveys to the reader an understanding of the uses and purposes of the remedy.
