A GEORGETOWN NeGRO Drownep. — Coroner Powell held an inquest at Wheatley's, on King Street, this morning upon the body of John Jack- son. colore 1, of Georgetown, found drowned in the canal basin here. It appeared that he entered on the canal boat A. G. Unler at the basin last night, stole a pair of shoes, and being pursued by the captain fell Into the basin and was drowned. The jury found a verdict of accidental drowning in an endeavor to escape utter a larceny.
