He took elation, Xvil chapter, verse 14: all make war with the Lamb, and the Lain shall cvercome them; for he ts the Lord of lords and the King of kings; and tuey that are with Him are called, and chosen and faithtul.” ‘The theme of the sermon was the Yictory of the Lamb over his enemies. He deseriped, vividly, the victory of Gol over sin and hell, urging upon” all the necessity of enlisting under the banner of the Lord Jesus Christ, and of fleeing from the wrath of God, for he sald God would surely prove the victor over each soul in his presenee, either by love or by wrath. In closing, he made one of the strongest appeals to the unconverted ever heard at this cam ground—at the close of which he invited all tha Wanted to be on the side of love, peace and God to come forward. A large number went forward, three of whom were converted. A very large audience attended the last meeting, and a good feeling prevailed. The total number of conversions during the camp 1s seventy-flve. A FEW POLITICIANS were on the grounds this afternoon—not with an idea, so far as could be judged, of being spiritually benefited by the meetings, but to seek out and secure votes at the primaries which come off next month. If the Christians that attend camp would take lessons [rom some of the politicians and imt- tate the persistent manner In which they stick to @ Voter until, from sheer exhaustion, he promises to do anything they say, the number of converts might be swelled immensely. A THUNDER STORM. Last night a severe thunder storm broke over camp, alarming many of the tenters, especially the ladies. A large number of people arrived by the morn- Ing trains, and by noon several hundred had come in from the surrounding country. ‘The rough ele- ment that usually visits camp on the last night failed to put in an appearance this year, and everything was very quiet. AUII o'clock the presiding elder. Rev. J. F. Deale, In a feeling address, closed the reilgious exercises of thecamp. Tue choir sang the “Swest Bye- and-Bye,” after which the doxology was sung, the Denediction pronounced, the bell tolled, and the camp of '82 was a thing 6f the past. M. =< Amusements, Excursions, &c. His efforts to prove that ex-Senator Dorsey isa high and nobie-minded man were not entirely asuccess. This was doubtless due to the fact that it tg almost impossible, as he said, to treat this subject seriously. It requires a age to ask a J innocence of this star route ganz. The argu- ments for the defense have been decidedly lame from the start, and Mr. McSweeny probably knows as-well as anybody else that cheap wit is neither proof nor argument. But the lawyers for the de- fense have got just about so much Ume to occupy, and they might as well use it up in this way as in any other. deal of cour- inreal earnestness to believe in lett, Capt.
