Association during the past few months to raise fungs to com- plete the purchase of the building 1420 New York avenue have at last been crowned with success. ‘The sum of $20,000, the amount of the first cash payment thereon, has been ratsed, and Mr. Cross, the agent of the property, has been notified of this fact. The building will be vacated by the 1st of September, and the association expect to have it ready for Secupancy by the Ist of October. This resuit ts very gratifying to the friends of the asso- ciation, and they have no doubt now but that the entire ainount necessary to complete the purchase ured by that time.
