MISS HATCHETT’S LETTER WHICH LED TO THE FATAL ENCOUNTER. Mis3 Mamie Hatchett, who was the cause of the affray between two young men, Addison and Gariand, at Lunenburg, Va., result- ing in the death of the former, wrote on June 25th, a letter to Garland, in which she states that the report of her having flirted with him had been putin circulation by him. The letter then goes on to characterize Garland as devold of truth, honor and principal, and threatened him with a'public Xposure oi his character and conduct unless he either left the state or ceased talking about the writer.
